Why We Work With Mom Owned Business CEOs
We specifically serve CEO moms –mom owned business CEOs just like ours! Today, we’re diving into why the Tara CPA Firm has made it our mission to support these small business moms.
As a CPA and certified tax coach, I work with mom owned business CEOs who are looking to strategically use their businesses to pay less in taxes, spend more time with their kids, build their dream life, and do the things that they love most.
We believe that good things happen when mom owned businesses make money. And when I’m talking about money, I meanmoney. Not just $2k or $3k a month. I am talking aboutseriousmoney here.
I’m sharing this mission with you because there is so much negative connotation and mindset surrounding making money, especially if you’re a woman (and it’s even worse if you’re a mom). There’s this notion that mom owned businesses who make a lot of money (and want to make money) are putting their business ahead of their kids… And that’s just not true.
I’m here to tell you that it’s not only okay to say that you want money – but that it’s our mission to help you save (and therefore make!) more money. Here’s why:
Our Mission to Help Mom Owned Businesses
Having a team of moms around me has really changed how I looked at making money and what it can do for small business moms. It all started two and a half years ago, when my mission was to make more money. I decided that, now that we were finished having our 4 kids and they were growing, we really needed to make more money.
Then, the mission evolved when I started talking to some other women. At the time, we weren’t niched down to CEO moms. I kept hearing about these horrible experiences that different mom owned businesses had, especially male CPAs.
So the mission grew. I realized I needed to serve more women, because CEO moms out there needed us. But before I could do that, I needed to make more money to grow the firm and still stay present for my kids.
Why We Work With Mom Owned Business CEOs
We Can Give Them Better Work/Life Balance
So today, the mission has grown to also include creating a space, creating a business, and creating a culture that allows other women to leave their horrible jobs that don’t actually provide balance for them to be a mom and let them still have that professional outlet.
Here at the Tara CPA Firm, we’re creating that. Our other tax accountant, Becca, will message me pictures of her spending the day with her daughter at a school picnic on a weekday – and what an incredible thing that I can do for her. She got to leave a horrible public accounting firm that was driving her into the ground to have better work/life balance. She used to work 70 hours a week during tax season, and now she can work 40 and spend more time with her kids.
Because we have money, I’m able to give back to other moms. I get to create this space for my team that knows, hands down, your kids, your family, your life will always come first.
This also applies to our clients who are small business owners and moms. We love helping them save money so they can spend more time with their kids, go on weekend trips with their spouse, have more alone time – the sky is the limit.
We Can Help Other Moms Who Own Small Businesses Thrive
We love supporting other moms who own small businesses. 95% of the time, if I’m going to invest my money with someone, it’s going to be another CEO mom. And that is because she’s probably running her business pretty similarly to how I am, and I want to support her as a CEO mom.
When moms who are small business owners make money, they can go invest in other mom owned businesses. Just recently, we’ve invested in an operations optimization by a CEO mom owned business and a marketing coach, and I love knowing those dollars are going into another CEO mom’s pocket. We can just keep spreading the wealth.
